While the impact of Hurricane Florence is expected to be less in our area, we encourage all Brickshire residents to be prepared. Governor Northam issued a Declaration of Emergency on Sunday. New Kent County issued its Declaration of Local Emergency at 10:30 am on Monday in order to take actions and expend funds necessary to implement their responsibilities. The Emergency Operations Center has been activated and the county can communicate with the New Kent Alert system. For up-to-date information on emergency services, please sign up for New Kent Alert.
In the event of a power outage, please note that the Owners’ Clubhouse will be powered by a generator and available for resident use. This may be particularly important for those that need to refrigerate medications or electricity for medical reasons. If you need medical assistance, always call 911.
Should winds and rain lead to fallen trees and property damage, please keep the following in mind: when a tree falls, the portion of the tree that lands on your property becomes your responsibility. If a tree falls on your house, your first call should be to your homeowners insurance claims department. If you notice a leaning tree, please notify the property owner as quickly as possible. You can report any common property damage by emailing Association Manager Julie Joyner. Please include your contact information, a description and the location of the damage along with photos if possible.
